Networker Privacy Policy
Networker is an ad-free iPhone network utility. It does not create user accounts and does not use advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking.
Information Used by the App
- Current WiFi name (SSID): When you grant Location While Using permission and request a WiFi sharing feature, Networker reads the name of the WiFi network currently used by your iPhone. The SSID remains on your device unless you choose to create a QR code or use Appleās system password-sharing flow.
- WiFi password and QR code: Networker cannot read WiFi passwords from iOS. You enter a password only to create a WiFi QR code. The password is used in memory to encode the QR code and is not stored by Networker. Anyone who can view the generated QR code may be able to join that WiFi network.
- Connection and public-network details: Networker reads connection details available on your device, such as local IP address and subnet. When the Network screen loads or refreshes, the app requests public IP and approximate location information from ipwho.is. That provider receives your public IP address as part of the network request.
- Local-network discovery and scans: Bonjour discovery and, after your confirmation, the full LAN scan communicate with devices on your current local network. The full scan checks common TCP service ports across the active WiFi /24 subnet. For responsive web devices, Networker may request a small local HTTP or HTTPS response to display a device name. Use this feature only on networks you own or are authorized to administer. These requests are made directly between your device and local-network devices.
- Speed-test history: Speed-test timestamps and measurements are stored only on your device in local app storage. You can clear the history in the app.
- Diagnostics: Diagnostics send network requests needed to check gateway, DNS, and internet reachability. Networker does not send diagnostic results to a Networker-operated server.
Data Sharing and Retention
Networker does not sell, rent, track, or use your data for advertising. The app does not operate an account system or a server that receives your app data. Network requests are made only to the services and local devices required by the feature you choose to use. Local speed-test history remains on your device until you clear it or remove the app.
Your Choices
You may deny or revoke Location and Local Network permissions in iOS Settings. Doing so limits features that need the current WiFi name or local-device discovery. You may clear speed-test history from the app at any time.
Changes
